Kelly graduated from the Memorial Hospital School of Radiologic Technology in Colorado Springs with national certifications in Radiologic Technology and Computed Tomography. She continued her education at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs with a Bachelor of Health Care Science. Kelly worked in a hospital-based radiology department performing imaging studies for several years. During this time, she worked alongside sonographers and was introduced to the complex world of ultrasound imaging. She discovered the vital role a skilled sonographer plays for accurate patient diagnosis by a radiologist or cardiologist. Kelly pursued a career in sonography by attending the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at the University of Colorado Hospital in Denver and subsequently gained employment at the hospital after graduation.

Since her return to Colorado Springs, she has continued to work in the Maternal Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics/Gynecology sonography disciplines. Kelly enjoys volunteering for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) by contributing to the development and standardization of credentialing examinations. She has been appointed the ARDMS Obstetrics and Gynecology Assessment Committee Vice Chair for exam development and has been published in the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JDMS).

With a love for animals, Kelly pursued an opportunity to advance her career into veterinary sonography with Focused Ultrasound Resources. She enjoys the challenge of working with animals and being a part of their care team. During her free time, she is kept busy with her 2 young kids and French Bulldog, Ace.
