Amanda Taggett

SONOGRAPHER

RVT, CVT, PVFR, FFCP

Amanda graduated from Louisiana State University A&M with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Arts in 2012 while growing her career as a veterinary technician.  Amanda then graduated from Oklahoma State University A&M in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science & Biotechnology in hopes of combining her love for the applied arts and veterinary technology to start a business creating innovative but affordable educational training models for the industry.

In 2014, in a community effort to help combat the shortage in veterinary radiologists and overburdened veterinary internists, Amanda began a dual apprenticeship in veterinary sonography with staff radiologists for Oncura Partners Diagnostics and the internal medicine specialists at Oklahoma’s top emergency and specialty medicine referral practice.  After eight years of rigorous experience and certifications in veterinary sonography and emergency & critical care medicine, Amanda accepted a position as staff veterinary sonographer and relocated to Denver, Colorado.

Amanda is now an active instructor in programs combining sonography with emergency and critical care medicine aimed at building skill and comfort among veterinarians in the industry.  Wanting to further cultivate her experience, Amanda joined FUR to work side-by-side with fellow sonographers to help focus on veterinary education beyond image capture for the Greater Denver area.  In her free time, Amanda has adopted the Coloradoan lifestyle of taking to the mountains to ski and paddleboard, but still holds onto her roots of exploring local coffee shops to sip a latte and read a good book.
